Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has admitted to being frustrated at his Liverpool recovery as he revealed pre-season has been a 'shock to the system'.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is taking a stab at match sharpness having been sidelined for over a year with genuine knee damage. 

The 25-year-old included for just 19 minutes towards the finish of last season however has ventured up to his recovery by playing in every one of the seven warm-up games this mid-year. 

The midfielder, however, has uncovered the troubles he has experienced in endeavouring to rediscover the structure that made him a most loved in the second 50% of his first season in the wake of touching base from Arsenal for £35million on due date day in 2017. 

"Actually it's been somewhat of a battle," said Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is probably going to be on the seat for Sunday's Community Shield against Manchester City at Wembley. 

"I overlook that I haven't played for quite a while and, in the event that I am straightforward, the last couple of games haven't been at the level that I need. 

"The Dortmund game I felt better however the following one (Sevilla) I felt worn out and afterwards the one after (against Sporting Lisbon) I was more drained. 

"A great deal of the chaps will feel tired in pre-season. However, for me, it's more of a stun to the framework. I simply continue attempting to advise myself that I have experienced the most noticeably terrible of it. 

"We have played seven games since we got back. I have through them all, which is something to be thankful for me."
